His academic and professional journey is rooted in a deep understanding of geotechnical challenges and solutions.

Role: As the CEO, Scott is pivotal in executing the strategic vision of Compactica. He leads the company with a sharp focus on innovation and excellence, overseeing all operations and steering the team towards achieving groundbreaking advancements in intelligent compaction technology.

Background: With almost 30 years in the tech and professional services industry and a background in pure mathematics and business, Marvin brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and perspective to Compactica.

Role: As the Chief Operating Officer, Marvin leads the strategic development, organizational process, operational efficiency, employee engagement, and customer success functions. He has held leadership positions in organizations such as CCL Group, Nati, Bell Aliant, Infotech, Q5 Systems, Open Communications, PwC, and has recently retired from Nasdaq Verafin. Marvin joined Compactica because of the opportunity to create 10x better geotechnical innovations for the construction industry.

Background: Nick Groves received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Memorial University and holds a license in geotechnical engineering in Newfoundland and Labrador. His expertise is backed by a solid foundation in civil engineering principles and innovative applications.

Role: Nick leads the R&D team at Compactica, focusing on continuous innovation and enhancement of the product. He is pivotal in integrating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies into Compactica’s offerings, ensuring the product stays ahead of industry trends and meets evolving customer needs.

Her goal is simple: make intelligent compaction easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to put to work on real projects.

Josh Skinner

Director of Sales

Background: Josh Skinner has built his career in the construction industry by turning emerging and under‑served segments into high‑performing markets, consistently driving growth across infrastructure and commercial projects. Coming from the industrial distribution sector—where he built and led the national accounts program for a quarter‑billion‑dollar, market‑leading provider—he deepened his expertise in large, multi‑site customer relationships and scalable growth strategy.

Role: With a relationship‑driven approach and a deep understanding of the construction ecosystem—from owners and general contractors to project managers and field end‑users—Josh identifies opportunities others overlook and delivers solutions that drive measurable project and business outcomes. Combining technical insight with commercial strategy, he specializes in translating complex construction technologies into clear, actionable value for clients, helping teams modernize operations without disrupting day‑to‑day delivery.
