Background: Scott Allen, the founder and CEO of Compactica, holds a degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and is a licensed professional engineer in Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario. His academic and professional journey is rooted in a deep understanding of geotechnical challenges and solutions.
Role: As the CEO, Scott is pivotal in executing the strategic vision of Compactica. He leads the company with a sharp focus on innovation and excellence, overseeing all operations and steering the team towards achieving groundbreaking advancements in intelligent compaction technology.
Marvin Chaulk
Chief Operating Officer
Background: With almost 30 years in the tech and professional services industry and a background in pure mathematics and business, Marvin brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and perspective to Compactica.
Role: As the Chief Operating Officer, Marvin leads the strategic development, organizational process, operational efficiency, employee engagement, and customer success functions. He has held leadership positions in organizations such as CCL Group, Nati, Bell Aliant, Infotech, Q5 Systems, Open Communications, PwC, and has recently retired from Nasdaq Verafin. Marvin joined Compactica because of the opportunity to create 10x better geotechnical innovations for the construction industry.
Greg Davidson
P. Eng. - Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Background: Greg Davidson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Carleton University and is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario. With extensive experience in the field, Greg brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.
Role: As the lead of geotechnical engineering at Compactica, Greg is responsible for ensuring that the software adheres to the highest geotechnical standards and functions optimally. He leads his team in fine-tuning the software to meet precise field requirements, ensuring reliability and accuracy in all project implementations.
Nick Groves

Background: Nick Groves received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Memorial University and holds a license in geotechnical engineering in Newfoundland and Labrador. His expertise is backed by a solid foundation in civil engineering principles and innovative applications.
Role: Nick leads the R&D team at Compactica, focusing on continuous innovation and enhancement of the product. He is pivotal in integrating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies into Compactica’s offerings, ensuring the product stays ahead of industry trends and meets evolving customer needs.
Maria Driscoll
Director Client Engagement
Background: Maria Driscoll holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from Memorial University, and brings a strong foundation in business, strategy, and marketing. Her experience spans client facing work and go to market execution, with a focus on turning complex offerings into clear value that customers can act on.
Role: As Director of Client Engagement at Compactica, Maria leads the end to end client experience with a marketing focus, supporting relationships from first conversation through adoption and long term success. She partners closely with leadership, product, and field teams to sharpen positioning, shape outreach and content, and turn customer feedback into improvements that strengthen Compactica’s impact in the field. Her goal is simple: make intelligent compaction easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to put to work on real projects.

Role: As the lead senior software developer at Compactica, Demetree is responsible for overseeing all aspects of software development, from system architecture to security.
